Julia Christensen is an artist whose work treads on the thin line between art and research. She also likes to tread on most of the thin lines between various media, between the electric and the non-electronic, and between audience and performer. Julia is the author of Big Box Reuse. Published by the MIT Press this fall, the book is a product of Christensen's ongoing investigation of how communities are renovating and reusing abandoned commercial big box buildings. An accomplished musician and performer, Christensen is also involved with new media, video, and installation work.
