2007 JURIED STUDENT EXHIBITION
Beginning Friday, March 16th, the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art proudly opens its 2007 Juried Student Exhibition, which will run through April 28, 2007. In an exciting change of venue this year, the Myers' students work will be displayed at summit artspace, 140 East Market Street in Akron, OH. Each year, students are invited to submit work that is evaluated by an independent juror for display in the show. This year’s exhibition will be judged by Dr. Louis A. Zona, Executive Director of the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.

Art History-Guest Lecture, Judith Mann, Saint Louis Art Museum: Artemisia Gentileschi
Artemisia Gentileschi had an intriguing life and career that would be dramatic even today. On Monday, March 26, 2007, at 6 pm in Folk Hall – Judith Mann, curator of the collection of Early European Art at the Saint Louis Art Museum presents "Taking the Good with the Bad: Artemisia Gentileschi in Naples 1630-1654". Mann's lecture will illuminate the fascinating story behind the scenes of artist Artemisia Gentileschi. The lecture, sponsored by the Art History department, is free and open to the public. A reception to meet the lecturer will follow.
