Biography

Christopher Hoot graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Art, majoring in graphic design with a minor in printmaking. His M.F.A. is in Graphic Design from Yale University. He has worked as a graphic designer in Miami, Florida and after graduate school as a freelance graphic designer in San Francisco and Palo Alto, California. His exhibition, "A Century of Innovative Book Design" has been exhibited at the American Institute of Graphic Arts on Fifth Avenue in NYC, the Anderson Gallery at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Emily Davis Gallery. He has also written and designed a 220 page catalog for the traveling exhibition. Professor Hoot has taught at The University of Akron since l99l and continues his design work through HootDesign, developing award-winning identity systems and publications for a wide range of clients.
