Biography

Beth Lindenberger has a BFA in Ceramics from the University of Akron and has worked as a ceramic artist for over 20 years, making and exhibiting primarily sculptural forms. She has held adjunct teaching positions at the University of Akron, Kent State University-Stark Campus and Cuyahoga Community College-Western Campus, teaching Ceramics and Three- Dimensional Design.

Beth has also been active as an artist in schools in Stark County and Akron, winning awards from the Summit Education Initiative and Akron Public Schools. Permanent tile murals done in collaboration with art classes can be seen at King Elementary in Akron. A public sculpture installation is on site at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center in Peninsula, Ohio, created through a project with the University of Akron’s ARTSLIFT program. She recently acted as co-curator of the exhibition ALL THE DIFFERENCE: Works in Clay, a retrospective covering the history of Ceramics at the University of Akron.

Her latest work is based on mileposts or cairns marking direction and connection to personal experience. She creates one of a kind pieces, often carving and stacking forms and is influenced by ancient stone formations and organic surfaces.
