Biography

Annette graduated from the University of Akron with a B.F.A. in graphic design and a minor in illustration. She then earned a M.F.A from Kent State University.

Annette has enjoyed a varied work experience. She has gained valuable working knowledge by working at many different design affiliates, such as for a design studio, advertising agency, magazine publisher and as an in-house designer.

Currently, Annette has been creating through her own design studio since 1994. She designs for a variety of industries, including: long-term care, automotive, universities and schools, wheelchair accessible companies, insurance companies, medical affiliates and computer technology. She enjoys the wide range of design and the challenge of designing for different clientele.

Annette has been teaching since Fall 2002. When teaching, Annette likes to share her enthusiasm for design and problem solving. She feels that continuous learning is especially important because technology and new media present a unique challenge to designers and keeps transforming the role of the visual communicator. Since Annette has worked as a designer for many years and has a variety of experience, she often likes to pass on her experiences to students to help them better prepare for the wide range of responsibilities they will encounter as design professionals.
