Bachelor of Fine Arts
Sculpture

Sculpture's changing role in the contemporary world and its rich history are reflected in the sculpture program's curriculum. Students learn the human figure through studies in modeled clay, wax and plaster. More permanent media such as cast bronze and carved stone enable students to apply traditional sculpture techniques to contemporary ideas.

Classes in blacksmithing, welding and woodworking let students select specific skills to be learned in depth. All students are encouraged to develop individual directions in sculpture and to explore contemporary issues through mixed media installations, interdisciplinary projects and public art exhibitions.
