As one of the largest and most popular offerings in the Myers School of Art, the graphic design program encompasses the many specialized areas within the visual communications field.
This excellent program combines the best in teaching and technology. The faculty members provide diverse academic and professional expertise, while seven well-equipped graphic design studios enable students to gain experience with technology that is standard in the industry. The curriculum prepares students for the competitive field by emphasizing critical thinking and logical problem solving.
Advanced students have the opportunity to work with real clients, printers, service bureaus and other professionals in the field. The students hone their design skills, business savvy, technical knowledge and teamwork abilities.
1 Core/foundations courses in drawing, two dimensional design, three dimensional design, and life drawing.
Major courses: Drawing for Designers, Graphic Design Principles, Typography, Advertising Layout Design, Production for Design, Packaging Design, Corporate Identity and Graphic Systems, Advanced Graphic Design, Publications Design, Graphic Presentations.
